Over the years I have created dozens of jewelery boxes, I really could not say how many for sure. One thing that I am sure of is that a box that is employed to hold something as special and beautiful as jewelery should make a bold statement of its' own whether it be in the design of the box or in the materials used, or both.
The box on the left and center above is in a modern art deco style and is crafted of some exquisite fiddleback maple with a walnut top, base and drawer pulls. As with all of my jewelry boxes, it is lined with suede leather which lends further elegance as well as protection for its' contents.
The box on the right above is made from quilted maple for the body, fiddleback maple for the top and with bolivian rosewood for the legs. This is a simple design that allows the irredescence of the quilted maple to stand out all the better.
